The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to accept India’s white-ball tour later this year, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Political concerns between the two nations caused the tour, which was originally scheduled for August of last year, to be postponed. As tensions between India and Bangladesh increased, the BCCI pushed the Kolkata Knight Riders to release Mustafizur Rahman, which had an effect on the Indian Premier League.
However, should India visit the nation for its white-ball tour, the BCB has pledged increased protection. The BCCI’s Mithun Manhas and the incoming head of the cricket board, Tamim Iqbal, reportedly get along well, which might make India’s tour a reality.
The aforementioned source claims that, in light of India’s upcoming tour, the BCB had requested bids for media and television rights for a six-match series. Since then, the rumours have proven to be untrue. But the Men in Blue would probably travel to Bangladesh for six games, including three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and an equal number of Twenty20 Internationals.
Future series may be impacted by India’s tour of Bangladesh. In September, Afghanistan was scheduled to visit India for a Twenty20 series.
However, the BCCI will have to postpone the Afghan series if the Bangladesh tour proceeds.
The Men in Blue are currently on a white-ball tour in England. They are now playing in the 50-over series after losing the T20I series 4-0. They will play three 20-over matches in Zimbabwe after leaving the UK, then on August 15 they will trip Sri Lanka for two Test matches.
