According to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, Rohit Sharma‘s final international cricket match will not be the third ODI between India and England on Sunday, July 19 at the legendary Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Rumours started to spread when a report on Thursday, July 17, claimed that Rohit had been informed by the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee that he would not be competing in the ODI World Cup the following year. The selectors reportedly wanted to give Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill a long rope at the top of the order.
The study was published concurrently with a drop in Rohit Sharma’s ODI cricket form. In the current series against England, the 39-year-old has only managed 11 and 26 goals, respectively. In Thursday’s second ODI, he amassed 26 runs off 47 balls.
Fans were really concerned about Rohit’s future because he had already retired from Test and Twenty20 international cricket. However, Saikia’s revelation will be a huge relief to them. “There are a lot of speculations going on in the media about Rohit Sharma’s future.”

Will Rohit Sharma be able to quiet his detractors on Sunday?
The Mumbai batsman had an outstanding record in ODI cricket in England before to the series. However, he hasn’t had success in the first two games. However, this does not preclude Rohit Sharma from returning to his former level on Sunday.
