In Australia’s second innings, Cameron Green hit his third Test century with 104 runs off 201 balls. Hasan Mahmud, who claimed nine wickets during the game, bowled Cameron.

In the first Test, which took place at Marrara Stadium in Darwin from August 13–16, 2026, Bangladesh defeated Australia by nine wickets, making it their first Test victory in Australia in just three tries.

Cameron had not scored a century at home in 33 innings since making his debut against India in December 2020. In Darwin, the batter’s return to his natural style proved crucial, as he had previously struggled to parlay beginnings into meaningful scores at home. Ahead of the second and final Test match against Bangladesh, which is set for August 22–26 at Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay, Green described the mentality change that enabled him to regain form.

How Green reverted to his original batting technique

After hitting a spectacular 136 for Western Australia in a Sheffield Shield innings in March, the hitter gained clarity. What worked for him at the top level was reinforced by that domestic success. Green learned from the experience how important it is to play to his strengths rather than trying to mimic teammates’ batting strategies and techniques.

Why Cameron style of play differs from that of his teammates

Travis Head can chase the bowlers from ball one, according to Cameron, but a similar strategy didn’t work for him.
