Sanju Samson was dropped from India’s starting order during the tour of the United Kingdom after scoring just six runs in three innings. In two of those three innings, Ireland was the opposition. With two Twenty20 Internationals left in the five-match series and India behind England 0–2, fans are demanding that Samson rejoin the squad.
Nayar said that the wicketkeeper-batter shouldn’t be reintroduced into the starting lineup in a way that would upset the team’s balance when a broadcaster asked if India should start Samson instead of the struggling Tilak Varma for the fourth Twenty20 International on Thursday, July 9 at the County Ground in Bristol.
According to the previous Indian squad assistant coach, Sanju Samson has done best when batting in the top three, and batting below the order won’t yield the required results.
“I really believe that you should put Sanju Samson in a situation where he can succeed if you must bring him back in. You will bat him at No. 4, 5, or 6 merely because you want to bring him in. Nayar told the Indian squad’s management not to panic.
