After a challenging start to the series, Sanju Samson delivered a thunderous knock. He had only scored ten runs in the first Twenty20 International. Samson had amassed 33 runs in four innings during games against England and Ireland earlier this year. Due to his poor performance, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, a promising talent, was chosen to replace him in the starting lineup.

Mohammed Kaif, a former Indian batsman, too commented on Sanju Samson predicament, recognizing both his extraordinary talent and the problems with consistency that have characterized his career. Kaif pointed out that Samson’s issue was sustaining form over several innings rather than his skill. He emphasized that few hitters could equal Sanju Samson skill in spin bowling, especially against elite spinners like Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi.
