Priyansh Arya discusses the advantages of sharing the crease with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, saying that the teenager’s aggressive intent makes things easier for the person at the non-striker’s end and forces the opposition bowlers to adopt a defensive stance. Arya also discussed the lessons he has gained from working with Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh as he prepares for a new challenge at the India A level.

Priyansh Arya will represent India A against Australia A in three one-day games. The inaugural game will take place at the Cricket Association Puducherry Siachem Ground on October 6, 2026. He is in great form going into the series, having scored 475 runs at a strike rate of 179.24 in IPL 2025 and 364 runs at a strike rate of 211.62 in IPL 2026. He also hit a century against Australia A in List A cricket in 2025, which served as a useful point of reference for this task.

Why does Priyansh Arya love batting with Sooryavanshi?

Arya and Sooryavanshi shared the crease in a one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka that also featured Afghanistan A and Sri Lanka A. In the competition final, the two combined for 132 runs against Sri Lanka A and 75 against Afghanistan A. During such trips, Priyansh Arya seen directly how Sooryavanshi’s presence alters the bowling side’s difficulty.

Sooryavanshi has become a staple in India’s T20I team with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, and his performance at the highest level has reinforced his image as a match-changing opener.

What has Prabhsimran Singh’s experience taught Priyansh Arya?

Of all the senior players Priyansh Arya has coached and played with, he particularly likes Prabhsimran Singh. Singh has not yet made his debut for his country, despite making multiple appearances in squads.
