Kuldeep Yadav will play in five 50-over matches in the One-Day Cup between July 24 and August 2 as part of his first county spell with Yorkshire. He will return in September for the team’s last three County Championship games of the year.
He is expected to participate in India’s two-Test trip of Sri Lanka in August, which will take place on either side of his two-part stay.
The tour of Ireland and England ended with the last ODI at Lord’s last Sunday, and Kuldeep did not play in any of the ten white-ball matches.
Eyebrows were raised by India’s choice to bench Kuldeep despite spin all-rounder Washington Sundar’s injury.

He has taken 79 wickets at an average of 22.35 in 18 Tests since his last appearance in the one-off match against Afghanistan in June. With a best of 6 for 25, he has taken 194 wickets in 121 ODI matches.

This season, Kuldeep is the second active spinner from India to compete in the event. Currently playing for Warwickshire is left-arm spinner Manav Suthar, who made his debut in June with a Player of the Match performance against Afghanistan.
After Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Mayank Agarwal, Kuldeep will be the sixth Indian to represent Yorkshire when he makes his debut this Friday against Glamorgan. After signing with Yorkshire in 2025, Ruturaj Gaikwad left for personal reasons.
