The Mumbai Indians won the Indian Premier League (IPL) championship in 2017 while Jos Buttler and Rohit Sharma were teammates for two seasons. The great of today have a friendly relationship that reflects respect and admiration for one another’s work. Buttler’s relationship with Rohit has become stronger over time, despite the fact that a lot of time has passed and he has played for two different teams.

Jos Buttler and Rohit recently faced off during India’s three-match ODI tour of England. Buttler received a unique gift from his former IPL captain, Rohit, after the fierce series that England won 2-1.

Jos Buttler posted a tale about Rohit’s shirt on his official Instagram account on Friday, July 24. The former captain of India wrote, “Dear Jos, Loved my time playing with & against you.”

The England wicketkeeper-batter wrote in the tale, “One of my all-time favourite players, the one opposition player shirt I’ve always coveted! Thank you, @rohitsharma45. I will cherish this.”

How did Jos Buttler and Rohit perform in the series?

There were rumours that the last match at Lord’s would be Rohit’s farewell outing in international cricket after he scored 11 (21) and 26 (47) in the first two ODIs. At the Home of Cricket, however, the 39-year-old disproved his critics by hitting 138 runs off of just 110 balls, including five sixes and 17 fours. The Men in Blue put up a valiant fight and finished on 360/7, even though India lost the match while pursuing a 388-run mark.

In the same game, Jos Buttler hit an undefeated 41 off 13 balls. The Taunton native also had trouble in the first two games, scoring just five and seventeen points, respectively.

In the upcoming ODI World Cup, both seasoned campaigners will be crucial to the success of their respective sides. Although Jos Buttler had already won the 50-over World Cup, the Indian mainstay has not been able to claim the prized title.
