Before the first game, West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein talked to the reporters and was honest about how hard it will be for his team to beat one of the best T20I teams in the world. Akeal Hosein praised India’s skill and said that his team was determined to fight at the highest level.
India and West Indies start their five-match T20I series on October 6 in Lucknow. Shai Hope will lead the West Indies and Shreyas Iyer will lead India. The match comes after India won the last ODI series by a score of 2-1, setting up a new challenge in the shorter version.
West Indies knows India is strong, but they stand by themselves.
The West Indies have lost all four bilateral T20I series they have played in India, three of which were against India and one against Afghanistan. India beat West Indies 3-0 both times they came to India, in 2018 and 2022. This shows how big the task is that lies ahead.
Both teams will need to plan well and carry out their plans, Akeal Hosein said. He said that the Caribbean would pay attention to things they could control.
It is very hard to bowl in the powerplay against India’s best players.
The way India bats in the top order is especially dangerous during the powerplay overs. Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, and Ishan Kishan are all in India’s T20I team and can bat very quickly at the top of the order. India has a strong first part thanks to these three batters working together.

Akeal Hosein admitted that it was hard to bowl in the powerplay against India’s best players, especially as a spin bowler in the shortest format. The bowler from the West Indies knew that India’s top-order players were skilled and aggressive enough to take advantage of any loose balls.
