Ryan ten Doeschate and T Dilip’s departure is confirmed by BCCI

“Thank you, Assistant Coach Ryan ten Doeschate and Fielding Coach T Dilip, for your invaluable contributions to #TeamIndia. Why did Ryan Ten Deoschate and T Dilip sever ties with Team India?

Devajit Saikia disclosed the information in an interview with PTI, stating that T Dilip and Ryan ten Doeschate were fired rather than resigning. According to Saikia, the board decided not to extend the contracts of the two coaches.

“Assistant Ryan ten Doeschate’s two-year contract with the Indian men’s team ended on June 10. Fielding coach T Dilip, who was given a one-year extension, also had his contract end on June 8. They continued till the end of India’s tour of the United Kingdom. However, the BCCI is not giving them any extension,” Devajit Saikia told PTI.

“There is no question of accepting resignation as the contract has ended. We are currently in talks with two to three names and expect to finalise the details within a day or two. India will have a new fielding coach for the tour of Sri Lanka,” he said.

Ten Doeschate is certain about his future, while T Dilip has not yet made up his mind. T Dilip joined the Indian set-up when Rahul Dravid was hired in as the head coach in 2021. During the 2023 ODI World Cup, Dilip became well-known for his medal concept. Dilip received a one-year extension, which expired on June 8, but his original contract was set to expire in 2025.

Rohit Sharma also appreciated Dilip for his assistance in the most recent occurrences. Dilip has not yet revealed his next project, but Rohit wrote, “You are a legend, Dilip garu. You created magic within the group and were a behind-the-scenes workhorse. Best wishes ahead.”
