Shreyas Iyer praised his teammates’ enthusiasm after India defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in the three-match Twenty20 International series that concluded last week.
The Mumbai-born sportsman claims that because they are aware of how competitive Indian cricket is, the players try their hardest to help the Men in Blue win. “I feel when you step out on the pitch, you could see that hunger in all these youngsters who want to represent the team,” he said.
They are aware of the level of competitiveness in India. Iyer stated in a BCCI video, “So, whenever they step on, they want to make sure that they contribute to the best of their abilities and see to it that they win matches.”
Mayank Yadav made a comeback to the international scene after a 21-month hiatus, and he claimed the most wickets in the series against Zimbabwe. In three games, he took five wickets at an economy rate of 6.55. Shreyas was quite impressed by the right-arm pacer’s performance.

Another excellent player against the Chevrons was Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. After hitting two fifties in three games, the 15-year-old was crowned Player of the Series. Shreyas explained how Sooryavanshi’s early days were important because he set the tempo for later batsmen like Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.
