For the August 15 Sri Lanka Tests, Team India has already started preparations. For a two-match Test series, the Shubman Gill-led team will visit the Island Nation. Sai Sudharsan and Jasprit Bumrah, two Indian players named in the roster but subject to fitness, are the focus of attention.
In the coming days, India will travel to Sri Lanka, and Sai and Jasprit Bumrah are having difficulty getting back to full fitness in time to play.
Sai Sudharsan returns to batting after recovering from his injury.
According to a recent Cricbuzz article, Sai Sudharsan is healing nicely from his toe injury. The southpaw really hurt his toe, which was previously undisclosed. He is currently recovering and should be well enough to play in the first Test.
Sai Sudharsan is now at the CoE, but the doctors have not yet given him the all-clear to join the Indian squad. He has started batting again, though. However, Sai Sudharsan’s participation in the first test cannot be guaranteed.
When India plays a three-day practice match against the local Sri Lanka XI on 7 August, all will be resolved. Sai Sudharsan will probably start for India in the first Test on August 15 if he is well enough to play that match.
The worldwide career of Sai Sudharsan has not started off as planned. The southpaw is still trying to reach his first Test century with just 383 runs in 12 innings. The GT opener turned things around in his most recent India A trip, despite discussions regarding his dismissal.
Notably, in June, India A played a two-match series against Sri Lanka A. Sai Sudharsan had a fantastic tour, averaging 110.67 and scoring 332 runs in just four innings. India is pleased to see the 24-year-old recover from the injury because he got hundreds in both Test matches.
Devdutt Padikkal is prepared to play if Sai is still unable to participate in the first Test. In just three innings, the 26-year-old averaged 57.67 while scoring 173 runs.
Jasprit Bumrah Is Getting Fit
Jasprit Bumrah is recuperating well and will join the team in time for the Sri Lanka Tests, according to the same Cricbuzz article.
