The gifted 18-year-old English youngster struck at 136.67 to smash an outstanding 41 off 30 balls. However, the injury forced him to end his incredible run in England’s top 100-ball competition, which now allows Moeen Ali to play.
Moeen’s signing by the Southern Braves has an intriguing IPL connection as well. The GMR Group, which also owns the Indian Premier League’s Delhi Capitals, is the franchise’s owner. After obtaining a majority share in Hampshire County Cricket Club, GMR recently obtained complete ownership of the Southampton-based team.
