After his amazing efforts against Zimbabwe, Indian batting phenom Vaibhav Sooryavanshi took a significant leap in the most recent ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, capping an incredible start to his international career. The 15-year-old sensation, who finished with 151 runs in three games at an outstanding average of 50.33, was named Player of the Series during India’s clean sweep in Harare.
Vaibhav has climbed an amazing 230 spots to a career-best 48th position in the T20I batting rankings thanks to his outstanding achievements, which have earned him 536 rating points.
With an outstanding 81 in the series, the left-handed hitter made a name for himself on the global scene, displaying his calmness and courageous stroke play despite his youth.
Ishan Kishan continues to hold the top spot in the T20I batting rankings as India continues to dominate. After the Zimbabwe series, Kishan now has 910 rating points and is well ahead of Sahibzada Farhan of Pakistan, who is in second place with 848 points.
Kishan had previously achieved the third-highest batting rating in T20I history with a career-high rating of 916 points. The only players with higher ratings in the format are Dawid Malan of England (919) and Abhishek Sharma (931).
In the most recent rankings, a number of other Indian players also saw notable improvements. After steady efforts, Shreyas Iyer rose to 24th place among T20I hitters, while Tilak Varma rose to sixth. Ravi Bishnoi, a leg-spinner, also advanced, moving up to 41st in the T20I bowling rankings.
Despite losing the series, Zimbabwe had a few advantages. In the T20I batting rankings, fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani moved up ten spots to 26th, while Ryan Burl moved up six spots to tie for 85th.
Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand, who had held the top slot since January, was replaced by Shubman Gill in the ODI batting rankings. Bernard Scholtz, a spinner from Namibia, also advanced significantly, moving up five spots to seventh in the ODI bowling rankings following strong performances in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series against the Netherlands and Nepal in Utrecht.
There were also a number of changes in the most recent Test rankings. After taking five consecutive wickets, West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves moved up to ninth in the all-rounders’ rankings and up 21 spots to 48th among Test bowlers.
In the bowling rankings, Mohammad Abbas of Pakistan moved up nine spots to 17th, while fellow West Indies pacer Jayden Seales moved up five spaces to 24th. After his 32nd Test half-century, Pakistani sensation Babar Azam also climbed four spots to 15th among Test hitters.
