Claims that 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi can only play in the shortest version of international cricket have been refuted by Matthew Hayden, who is in favour of the teen’s success in all three forms. Born on March 27, 2011, Sooryavanshi has already made a significant impact at the highest level despite his youth.

“I disagree with those who claim he might simply be a short-format player. I think Vaibhav might also be successful in the game’s extended format. Fitness is undoubtedly a component of that, but mental toughness is more important.
One of the things I adore about Vaibhav is that, at the age of 15, he had the guts and dedication to not only compete in but also excel in a large, spectacular, blockbuster tournament like the IPL.
