India has given off-spinning all-rounder Saransh Jain his first Test call-up for the forthcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, rewarding the Madhya Pradesh player for his steady domestic performances and good showing for India A.

Saransh Jain chances improved during India A’s recent tour of Sri Lanka, where he shown his all-round talent. at the second unofficial four-day encounter at Galle, the off-spinner went unbeaten on 70 before delivering a match-winning effort with the ball, taking six wickets.
Across two four-day games against Sri Lanka A, Jain impressed with both bat and ball, demonstrating his ability to contribute in numerous areas. His performances came at an ideal time, making him a viable replacement option following Sundar’s injury.

Over the last several seasons, Saransh Jain has established himself as one of the most dependable all-rounders in Indian domestic cricket. In 54 first-class matches, he scored 2,223 runs at an average of 31.75, including two centuries, and took 188 wickets at an average of 27.30.
He also had a strong Ranji Trophy campaign last season, finishing with 30 wickets in just seven matches, bolstering his chances for national selection.
Jadeja returns as India retains its stable squad.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has returned to the Test team after recovering from a tennis elbow injury. India’s squad has remained mostly unchanged, with Jasprit Bumrah returning to lead the speed attack.
However, both Bumrah and Sai Sudharsan have been named contingent on fitness clearance. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is now receiving rehabilitation at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence, has been excluded from the Sri Lanka tour.
The two-match Test series will begin on August 15 in Galle, with the second Test taking place at the SSC in Colombo on August 23. Before the series begins, India will play a four-day practice match in Colombo, beginning on 7 August.
